Stretch marks are small, scar-like crevasses that form on the skin. They appear when the skin is subjected to excessive and sudden distension. When a stretch mark is created, its purplish red colour will fade over time until it turns white.
Stretch marks are formed after the skin is stretched too quickly and abruptly. Their appearance occurs mainly in the following cases:
A scar is the visible part of a dermal lesion after the tissue has been repaired, following an incision made during surgery or following an injury.
When the skin-healing process is initiated, an excess of collagen production sometimes occurs, giving relief to the scar. This is called a “keloid.” This is treatable as well.
It is important to know that you can consult us for the treatment of a scar or stretch marks as soon as they appear. In many cases, treatment could begin immediately.
In our Photoderma medico-aesthetic clinic, stretch marks and scars can be treated effectively with mesotherapy.
